Service Above Self
Service to our community...For more than 30 years, the Dracut Rotary Club has placed the highest priority on projects that help those in our own community. Some of our community projects include:
• Donating thousands of dollars annually for scholarships
• Supporting the Good Neighbor Fund for emergency aid for families
• Hosts the Annual Foster Children's Christmas Party
• Funded handicapped access doors at the Senior Center
• Funded the Tercentennial Monument in Dracut Center
• Supports the Summer Concert Series and Festival of Lights
• Donates annually to causes that benefit children
• Annually funds programs to help the handicapped
• Supported the Dracut Children's Memorial Project
• Sponsors vocational awareness programs for high school students
• Funded Project Recovery and the Drug Abuse Hotline
• Funded weather protected bus stops in town
• Supported the construction of the Lakeview Avenue Gazebo
• Sponsors youth leadership training programs
• Donates Thanksgiving Day dinners for families in need
• Supports local fundraisers - Salvation Army Kettle Drive & March of Dimes
Service to our nation and the world...This commitment to those in need stretches across our nation and around the world. Dracut Rotary Club:
• sponsored an exchange student from Ecuador for a year
•
is an ongoing participant in the Group Study Exchange program
• sent over $38,000 in flood relief to America's Heartland
• Sponsored a coast to coast bike-a-thon for the fight against hemophilia
• Participated in Polio Plus (Rotary International's fight to eliminate polio)
• Was the forefront of the effort to bring electricity, water and need supplies to the people of Haiti
How does Rotary fund these important projects? The service of Dracut Rotary Club is funded by the generosity of its members and the community. Members tirelessly give of their time and financial resources to further the causes of the club. Residents of Dracut and those in our business community generously donate money and materials throughout the year.
